Alistair Davidson

National Two club Waterloo have pulled off a major coup bringing former Ormskirk RUFC and Grammar School pupil Alastair Davidson back to the northwest.

Davidson who plies his trade in the second row left his home town to study at Edinburgh University played for Scottish first division side Boroughmuir before signing full time for Edinbugh in the Magners League.
Two further seasons with the Borders club preceeded a three season stint at top Italian outfit Udine where he combine playing for the Italian club with the teaching of English.
“I had been away long enough,” said the 28 year old. “So when Waterloo president Colin Fisher approached me the pull of my home town and family was too strong to resist his overtures.”
This is without doubt a major signing for the Blundellsands club who have been looking to strengthen their front five following relegation last season. Davidson who has represented Scotland at U18, student and university levels says that he cannot wait to get started.
“I am really excited with the prospect and cannot wait for the season to begin.”
Fisher a former full Scottish international hooker himself was equally delighted with his capture.
“We have been looking to strengthen the squad for the coming season and Alastair is the first of a number of new signings we will be unveiling in the run up to the opening game.”
