Hello to you all,
Well, the 2007/2008 season is practically upon us, and registration day looms large. This coming season will be a very exciting one for all of the players and of course Mums and Dads as well!
The new Under 16’s will be hoping to gain vast experience from their tour of South Africa in August, and hopefully bring back an extension to their already high abilities to contest the Lancashire Cup for what will be the last time for the age group. I’m sure that you will all join me in wishing them the best of luck in Africa, and also in their route to, we hope the Lancashire Cup Final.
You may not all realise it, but this will be the first season that Ormskirk RUFC Mini and Junior section will field a team at every age level from under 7 to Under 16. An achievement for which we must thank the coaches who have developed the players through the years, to get us to this situation.
Next Easter, sees us send a touring group to France for the 6 Nations Tournament at NSL. I have had communication from their president, and of course they wait to welcome us.
Hopefully this season will see a few more of you down at Green Lane on Sunday mornings, and of course it’s Rugby World Cup Year and it is the intention of the Club to host as many of you as are able to make it to watch the matches at the Club……….A surprise awaits you all when you see what we have to show it on !!!!
Anyway, I will keep you informed over the season as to how things are progressing within the section, and in case you forget to put it in your diary later on, the Summer Ball 2008 is on June 28th 2008, it’s a Saturday, and the venue has still to be decided!
