Ormskirk Ladies began 2008 in style, with a resounding win away at Eccles in the first round of the cup. The Lancashire Cup is played at 12 a side giving Ormskirk’s backs plenty of space to run in the tries – the only score by a forward was a gift from skipper Emma Gander to Lotte Doyle, so that coaches Dave Jonsson and Sean Fogarty were obliged to buy a promised jug of beer for the team.
The Ladies next fixture in the cup is away at Fleetwood – date to be confirmed.
