After a great start to the season for the First Team Squad both the First and Seconds have a Home match this weekend with the First Team kicking off at 1300 Hrs followed by the Seconds at 1500 Hrs.
The First Team achieved a good away win at Dukinfield on Saturday but were made to work hard for their 19 - 34 points win against a committed side. There is clearly much more to come from this developing Ormskirk side and they hope to follow up on this solid start to the season with a good result on Saturday against newly promoted Warrington. As ever good support from the Green Lane Old Faithful would be greatly appreciated to cheer our boys on to their First Home League win of the season.
The Second Team completed the good start to the season for the First Team Squad last weekend with a hard working win against Didsbury Toc H at home winning 18 - 5, which considering the numerous late changes is a credit to those who played with the odds stacked against them. They hope to continue their winning ways this Saturday against New Brighton starting at 1500 Hrs where all support again will be much welcomed.
The tough competition for places in the First Team Squad is healthy for the development of the Club and credit must go to the well attended Club Training being conducted twice a week on a Tuesday and Thursday, now under flood lights, for bringing on so many players so quickly. All players in the club from all 4 senior teams and any Colts who are over 17 are positively encouraged to attend club Training commencing at 1900 Hrs on a Tuesday and Thursday at Green Lane to help filter this success down through the club this season.
