On a stodgy Green Lane pitch Blaydon scored their first try quickly, leaving Ormskirk players wondering what had just happened. The Ladies spent most of the first half in their own 22, and before the half time whistle blew they’d conceded another try.
After half time the performance improved, and the Ladies got into their rhythm. A well worked team try for winger Claire Rylance inspired the Ladies to dig in. Following another sustained period of pressure fly half Jenny Leitch popped up on the blind side wing to score in the corner. Unfortunately, she wasn’t able to convert with the final kick of the game.
