Chairman Mini & Junior Section – Ormskirk RUFC
Proposal To Mini & Junior Section Management Committee
Over the past couple of seasons we have been asked for a service charge by the Senior Section as a contribution towards the running of the club.
Last season this was £4000 and this season it is £3000. All in all last year we as a section paid in the region of £2100 towards the senior club.
The issue of a service charge is not going to go away, so unless we address the issue we will have the same problem each and every year.
If we simply pay a nominal charge each year it may satisfy the senior section, but in essence this gives us very little security. With that in mind and coupled with the long term plans of Ormskirk Sports Club, I would like to put the following proposal to the Mini & Junior Committee.
We agree to pay a per capita charge per player of the mini & junior section to the senior section.
This will charge to be set at £10 for the next 3 years.
Once this payment is made each member of Ormskirk Mini & Junior Section becomes a Junior playing member of Ormskirk RUFC.
The funds for this will be mostly funded by raising the cost of our subscriptions, as follows
Individual Member from £30 to £40
2 Family Members from £50 to £70
3+ family Members from £75 to £95
If this proposal is accepted it will mean that we will be contributing towards the running costs of the club, but will also give our members the added security that they are also members of the senior club. We will also have the added security of knowing exactly how much we will have to pay the senior section for the next 3 years.
Ormskirk RUFC Junior Playing Member Proposal
The Ormskirk RUFC Mini & Junior Committee doesn’t believe that paying a percentage charge towards the running costs of Ormskirk RUFC is the correct way to move our club forward.
We do believe that Ormskirk RUFC Mini & Junior Section should contribute towards the running costs of Ormskirk RUFC, but that this should be done in a more structured way that benefits Ormskirk RUFC & Ormskirk RUFC Mini & Junior Section.
With all of this in mind the Ormskirk RUFC Mini & Junior Committee would like to put forward the following proposal (outlined in bullet points) as a way forward in the membership of Ormskirk RUFC.
1. Ormskirk RUFC creates a new tier of membership that being
“Junior Playing Member”
2. To become a “Junior Playing Member” you must be a member of Ormskirk RUFC Mini & Junior Section. (There are currently some 270+ members of Ormskirk RUFC Mini & Junior Section)
3. “Junior Playing Membership” is set at £10 per person this will be paid by the Mini & Junior Section to Ormskirk RUFC Senior Section.
4. Any review of this membership must be jointly undertaken by a sub
Committee appointed by both Senior & Mini & Junior Chairmen.
5. In each November of a new season the Junior Registration Secretary will pass the details of all Mini & Junior Section Members to the Mini & Junior Chairman, they will then authorise the payment for this membership.
6. Members details along with subscription payment will be sent from Mini & Junior Chairman to Senior Chairman
This arrangement will give security to all parties involved. The Senior Section will
have the security of a regular income which should be of a similar amount each year.
The Mini & Junior Section will know how much money has to be paid out at the start of each season, so will therefore be able to plan club development throughout the coming seasons. The Mini & Junior members will have the added security of being members of Ormskirk RUFC and the benefits that this membership attracts.
In addition to this it brings the clubs membership together; which can only help with the future development of Ormskirk RUFC & Ormskirk Sports Club.
