Friday saw a great night for all the families who took part in the Halloween Party at the Club.
The Disco/Karaoke went down a storm with many “entertainers” from both the Adults and the Kids taking part.
Special mention must be made about Lou Rees who with Phil Feeney should take part in the X factor, and also the Under 12’s (U11’s) led by the fearless Captain Monty in big group singing.
A big thanks to Lynne from Park Hall Restaurant for supplying what has to be the Best Hot Pot we have seen at the Club in many a year!
Thanks also to Clare, Shirley, Liz, Lou and all the young helpers who put together the Kids Buffet, and to Phil Sephton for supplying the Apples for the Dunking.
It was nice to see so many entering into the spirit of the evening and dressing up for the occasion, I haven’t ever seen so many witches in one place before…….and as for the Pumpkins….well the standard was so high that Stewart from the Disco found it difficult to find a winner. Anyway, congratulations to all those who won the Fancy dress and Pumpkin competitions!
Also a big thanks to all the contributors to the Raffle with a special big thank you to “First 4 Hair” in Liverpool for their generosity.
The bar staff were very good in keeping us well watered throughout the evening and helping in the clear up operation afterwards.
One thing was proved beyond any doubt and that is that most, if not all, want this type of event to be a regular occurence. With this in mind I will be pursuing the possibility of having a childrens disco on a regular basis at Green Lane, always on a Friday and always finishing before 10pm.
Once again thanks to you all for making this such a success and thank you to the Senior Club for allowing us to use their Marquee for the evening.
