Dear All,
After the debacle of last season’s planned Presentation Night, and having discussed the issue with various members on the Committee and around the Club, I’ve decided to go ahead with organising a do in October.
This will require your co-operation. Though a few guys have offered their support, I will need everyone to buy into the idea and attend to make it a worthwhile event. The outline plans are as follows:
Marquee at the Club
Saturday 27th October (weekend after the World Cup Final)
Black-Tie
Presentation of 2006/2007 awards (but much shorter than in previous years)
Hot buffet-style food to suit everyone’s tastes
Disco (possibility of a band) and bar extension afterwards
Hoping to keep cost down - maybe £20 (but costings not worked out yet)
This will be an opportunity to bring the whole Club together for an evening, and hopefully put some money behind the bar. The club will be decked out to look smart, so partners may well be more tempted to attend!
This is for information only at the moment. My hope is that team Captains (or their nominated helpers) will co-ordinate people so that I have a clear indication of numbers in the very near future. Hutch has offered to help me here, so please collar myself or Hutch asap to let us know your thoughts. Money up front would also be a bonus, as I/the Club have been stung a few times in the past with people saying they’re attending and then renaging. Again, Captains must organise this for me if possible.
