Unfortunately our pool was reduced to 3 teams by the abscence of Huddersfield but we started brightly enough with a solid 2 - 1 victory over Rochdale followed by a 0 - 3 loss to an in-form Widnes team. Runner up in the pool gave us a semi final against Manchester who beat us 0 - 3 despite the boys’ best efforts. A good day’s rugby in perfect conditions gave the chance for 3 more of our squad to experience their first games of contact and as usual with this team they could not be faulted for their effort and enthusiasm !
