Under 13s convincing win at Tarleton.

Prior to the Under 13s Lancashire Cup defeat at Broughton Park they took on local rivals Tarleton in a New Year’s friendly. The lads were keen for action after being warmed up by the Sale Sharks and an agreement was made to play 3 twenty minute sessions.

The game kicked off with Ormskirk almost immediately in the ascendency and this continued throughout the match. There wee good performances all round and Ormskirk were able to maintain the pressure in each of the thirds, despite the significant number of substitutions.Every player was keen to show off their ever improving skills including three new players to the squad.Craig Ennis scored a hat-trick and a brace of tries was scored by Tom Anderson and Olly Hogan. It was following a quick penalty that Rob Hall reacted well and drove over to score his first try of the season. Tom Povey showed his usual clean pair of heels, however it was through a quality dummy that he increased the score by 5.Good support was provided by key players with Danny Halloran and Kyle Hoy stealing the ball effectively, and Mike Quirk showing good aggression.Graham Bishop not only took over the kicking duties to provide the most reliable conversions to date 7/9 but also played his first game at scrum-half,coping well. The sale Sharks trainers were understandably impressed by the performance.

Tarleton   0   Ormskirk  59
