The under 14s celebrated the end of the season with a fantastic awards evening down at Green Lane last weekend. Surely the highlight of the evening was a massive Chinese banquet enjoyed by players, coaches and families alike. Whilst not its prime consideration much needed funds were raised through a raffle,auction and various games. A big thank-you goes out to all who donated prizes for the evening, particularly local businesses who are obviously under the cosh themselves at a time of economic downturn.After another succesful season the choosing of individual awards was always going to be difficult with lots of players in contention. However after much debate the following are this season’s award winners:-
Manager’s player of the year: Kyle Hoy
Players’ player of the year: Craig Ennis
Team player of the year: Mike Quirk
Most improved player: Jay Owens
Well done the whole squad and here’s to an even better season next year.
