Under 7s Away at Wirral 4th November 2007

We want to say a huge thank-you to our squad, parents and carers for your support so far this season.

Over the last few weeks we have watched all our players progress in all areas of tag rugby, and despite playing away at Wirral with a very inexpereinced team we were able to return victorious in all three matches and the future for the under 7s looks very promising.

Ormskirk played by the rules and their teamwork was outstanding. We were delighted to see some of our squad who were not playing turn up to support us on the day  - thank you for cheering us on. Thank you to all our supporters who showed good sportsmanship throughout.

The first match was played by 4 of our experienced players with 3 newcomers. It was a fast and furious match with good attacking and defence from both sides and Ormskirk were losing at the end of the fist half. We came out with all guns blazing  for the second half, determined to win, applied more pressure, and overturned the score to win 5 - 4.

For the second and third matches we played our less experienced sides , (this was only the second match for most of them), despite this lack of experiece they looked like they had been playing for several seasons (not a few weeks) and we were proud of their performance on the day. 2nd match 6 - 2 to us, 3rd Match 6 - 2 again to us.

It  was so hard to pick Man of the Match this week, however a choice had to be made and we awarded it to Joe and Will - well done boys!!!  Captains were Alex and Morgan.

Just a quick reminder that there is training this Wednesday (7th November 6.30 pm) at Edge Hill. Look forward to seeing you all then.
