Finally the sun came out, the pitch was relatively dry and our match went ahead. Despite recent cancellations the whole sqaud were on form today. Tagging has improved, as has holding the line, so well done to everyone.
West Park played really well but found us much too strong in defence during the first match, which we won 6 -3.
Our less experienced players rose to the occasion in the second match and, despite some superb play by West Park, were able to hold their own and drew 6 all.
We played a mixed team for the third game and were hungry for victory and won 10 - 7.
It was great to play such a fair side as West Park and we look forward to meeting them again next season. Thank you to all our spectators who applauded both sides and cheered the children on.
Special mention must go to Joe ‘Forest Gump’ for some amazing tags and runs, to Will ‘Lightning’ for great defence and attack, to Morgan ‘Dodger’ for outsmarting the opponents , to Nathan for catching that really high pass, to Alex ‘The Swerver’, to Nadia and Charlotte for Girl Power, to Callum ‘the Eliminator’ for reaching that impossible tag, to James and Dylan for that superb run and try, to Paul ‘Power House’ always fearless in defence and to everyone else in our squad- you were all excellent! Well done!!
Captains were Morgan and Will. Player of the Week and Man of the Match went to Morgan.
